DirectionsTrail Head DirectionsFrom exit 16 or 17 in Meriden, head east on East Main St. You will go through a busy retail area. Just past the Meriden and Middlefield town line and before the intersection with Route 66, there will be a small road off the right. Take that road down to Black Pond below. Black Pond is easy to spot, it is at the base of the large cliff. Park you car at the state boat launch area. Hiking DirectionsFrom the boat launch area, if you are facing the water, the trail is behind you up the ridge. Either scramble up one of the trails, or walk back up the road to where the trail meets the road. The trail is an old dirt road that is frequently used by RV and dirt bikes. Walking along the trail you are on the side of the ridge and gaining elevation over Black Pond. After about a 5 or 10 minute walk you will come to a valley between the ridge. This is at the intersection of the Blue Blazed Mattabesett trail. The falls are here down the gully on the right. Be sure to continue to the top of the ridge for a view of Black Pond below. To do this follow the Blue Blazed Mattebessett trail to the top. Latitude / Longitude: 41.52444 / -72.74167* I do not know or am unsure of the offical name of these falls.
