Trail Head Directions

From the intersection of Route 7 and Route 126 in Canaan, proceed north on 126 for .3 miles to the intersection with Main Street. Bear left onto Main Street (Route 126 goes to the right). Continue .2 miles to Falls Village center. At the center turn right and proceed down the hill. At the traffic island turn left and go under the railroad bridge. Continue past the power generation station and over the Housatonic River.

After crossing the river, take a right to Falls Mountain Road. Continue, and then take a right onto Housatonic River Road. Continue up hill then park at "Scenic Overlook". Total distance of .4 miles from the bridge over the Housatonic.

Hiking Directions

From the parking area head along well worn trail to the observation area. You will join up with the while blazed Appalachian Trail.
